Marking its fifth iteration, Pravaha organised Episteme 2026 in collaboration with IIIT-Hyderabad. Centred around climate change and sustainability, the program explored climate crises as part of a complex, interconnected web of global systems.
Held from May 21 to June 3, 2026, the program brought together 34 students entering grades seven and eight from across India. Through expert-led sessions, team activities, and a capstone challenge, students learned how their individual actions make them both a contributor to the climate crisis and a force for its solution.
Studying climate causes, natural resources, and daily habits to make practical sustainability choices.
Mapping climate issues across interconnected global systems to analyse complex interactions and hidden consequences
Examining daily habits and consumption choices to shift mindsets toward personal action and accountability.
Analysing everyday structures and alternative materials to evaluate responsible, long-term design choices.
Students participated in hands-on simulations and group exercises centered on real-world challenges. Activities included roleplaying climate negotiations, sorting local waste streams, identifying greenwashing in marketing, and staging a public transit awareness campaign.
Expert-led sessions covered key topics in climate policy, sustainable economics, architecture, and human-animal coexistence. These discussions challenged students to examine how daily consumer choices, policies, and technology impact interconnected global systems.
Participants visited traditional handloom weaving communities in Pochampally, Telangana and cutting-edge technological laboratories at IIIT-H. They gained firsthand insight into real-world design and complex environmental systems.
The program culminated in a systems challenge, where students synthesized their learning to map complex future scenarios of India’s interconnected systems, demonstrating their foresight, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
