Lodestone 2025

About the Program

LoDEStonE 2025, a collaborative initiative between Pravaha Foundation and IIIT-Hyderabad, was created to encourage innovation and design thinking among young minds.

 

The program, held from May 6th to 17th, 2025, engaged 28 students in grades 8 to 11 in an intensive, hands-on learning experience. It focused on interdisciplinary learning, combining technology with sustainable design principles, and heavily emphasized practical problem-solving and fostering creativity.

Focus Areas

Design In Real Life

Equipping students with the abilities to tackle and resolve problems in the real world, through creative collaboration.

Sustainable Design

Encouraging a deeper understanding of environmentally sustainable practices and the critical role of design in shaping a sustainable future.

Program Activities

Practical Design Thinking Workshops

Students participated in practical, hands-on workshops to explore the core stages of design thinking—empathy, ideation, prototyping, and problem-solving—applying these methods to real-world challenges

Sustainable Design Projects

By engaging in practical projects and analyzing case studies, students delved into sustainable design principles, developing solutions that thoughtfully integrate environmental, social, and economic factors.

Field Visits

Visits to the Footwear Design and Development Institute and IKEA offered students firsthand exposure to real-life applications of design, showcasing innovative practices and sustainability action. These experiences enriched their understanding and inspired innovative problem-solving.

Design Thinking in Entrepreneurship​

Mr Rohit Rajan, CEO of Arca AI took the children through the Entrepreneurship lifecycle. They tackled problems which the AI industry is currently working on. They were introduced to the concept of ‘Servant Leadership’, and its importance in life.

Focused Design Modules

Through specialised sessions spanning music and performing arts, AI in everyday life, aircraft design, and educational design, students gained forward-thinking skills and insights across a range of design disciplines.

Design Challenge

Students participated in a design challenge, putting their skills to the test by developing creative, real-world solutions to pressing issues on sustainability and climate change
